Small Commitment - Getting the foot on the door
In the third chapter of the book, The Psychology of Influence, by Robert B Cialdini, he explains another tactic employed by organizations, groups and people to extract compliance behavior. One method used here is this - getting prospects or people to comply to a small request. Once they comply to a small request, the idea is implanted in them and next, the prospect will voluntarily cede to larger requests or favors.
